Bardstown for the Arts and their Gallery on the Square is a space where local artists and craftspeople display and sell their beautiful creations. The gallery’s “Beyond the Bourbon” exhibit invites employees of the bourbon industry to show off their artistic talents. It’s a great addition to the Kentucky Bourbon Festival, and past shows included participants from Heaven Hill, Willett, and Wild Turkey Distilleries.

Bardstown Arts and Bourbon
Bourbon lovers, from far and wide, gather at the annual
Kentucky Bourbon Festival on the historic streets of Bardstown. Visitors expect to taste the wonderful locally crafted bourbons, sip perfectly balanced cocktails, and learn more about bourbon history. However, many are surprised by the variety of arts at the celebration.
Any visit to Bardstown must include checking out the Gallery on the Square. Over 30 local artists display and sell their paintings, sculptures, pottery, photographs and more in the historic 1914 post office turned art space. There is always something new and exciting to see. However, “Beyond the Bourbon” exhibit only takes place during the Kentucky Bourbon Festival. It’s a favorite event at the festival and allows employees in the industry to showcase their creativity.
The Kentucky Bourbon Shots™ photography contest is free and open to anyone (over 21) to submit their view of the Kentucky Bourbon experience. The photographs will be on display during the festival at the Gartland’s Art Sales. Live music is also always part of the festival, but My Old Kentucky Home State Park hosts a very special evening concert called Bourbon, Cigars & Jazz®. Join this fun party under the stars that includes delicious southern cuisine, excellent jazz and fine cigars. During the festival be sure to take the time and browse the arts and crafts for purchase at the merchandise booths. It’s a wonderful place to find an unique souvenir.
