Bachelor Weekend Bourbon Distillery Tours
Your party will need an entire weekend to visit all the great bourbon distilleries located in and around Bardstown. The Bourbon Manor can customize a weekend for your party that also includes transportation. Additionally, My Old Kentucky Dinner Train offers Bourbon Excursions. The two and half hour train ride through the beautiful Kentucky countryside also includes a four-course meal.
When planning your bachelor and bourbon weekend be sure to include the six local distilleries. Most charge a small fee for tours and tastings, and reservations are recommended. Everyone recognizes Makers Mark, with their iconic bottle dipped in red wax. They offer daily tours, in addition to an on-site restaurant for a relaxing lunch. Heaven Hill Distillery has been “lifting spirits since 1935”. Find their daily tours and tastings at the Bardstown Bourbon Heritage Center. Willett Distillery, founded in 1936, recommends reservations for their daily tours. Four Roses Bourbon has been “made with passion since 1888,” and large parties should make reservations. Jim Beam has been creating the highest quality bourbon for seven generations, and they are open for tours 6 days a week. “Celebrated by connoisseurs worldwide,” 1792 Bourbon offers three types of tours, each interesting and worthwhile.
Bachelor Weekend Activities, Dining and Nightlife
In addition to tasting fantastic bourbon, you and your buddies can go on a hike or get in a round of golf during the weekend. The historic downtown also has great restaurants and bars for excellent dining, live music—and of course bourbon cocktails.
Bardstown has great golf courses for a good walk as well as some friendly competition. Here are five local golf courses to choose from: My Old Kentucky Home State Park, Bardstown Country Club and Maywood Golf Club, Rosewood Golf Club, Cedar-Fil Golf Course, and Lincoln Homestead State Park Golf Course.
