Arts, Crafts and Festival Activities
This year marks the 38th anniversary of the festival. Last year over 45,000 visitors attended the two-day event. This juried fair boasts over 200 talented local artists and craftsmen. Visitors can also learn more at fascinating art demonstrations throughout the weekend. The arts booths are set up around City Hall, Spalding Hall and surrounding blocks. Explore the handmade jewelry, pottery, clothing and woodwork on display along the beautiful historic streets.
Treasure hunting is hungry work and the festival has an expansive food court and beer garden to refresh shoppers. The city’s parks and Spalding Hall Lawn provide seating and delicious southern food choices. Sip cold beer in the shade of mature trees, with a pork chop sandwich and fresh corn on the cob. Homemade fudge and classic candy apples will also tempt any sweet tooth.
Past festivals have always included fun music and entertainment. Cool your heels while listening to a Bluegrass band, cheer on contestants competing on the local TV station’s game show, or enjoy a lively dance performance. Kids will be entertained as well at the children’s area. They can bounce on the inflatables, paint a pumpkin, create sand art, or be transformed at the face painting booth. There is something for everyone at the festival.
Plan a weekend arts, crafts and antiquing escape to Bardstown this October. Imagine strolling the charming streets glowing with bright fall colors then returning to our private wooded setting. Reserve your room at the historic Bourbon Manor for a relaxing bed and breakfast experience.
